If you're reading reviews looking for the perfect place to stay on St. Thomas, then stop now and book Serendipity Villa! We were here for a week in March 2015 to celebrate our daughter's destination wedding and to enjoy the USVI. The villa was spacious enough for our group of 17 with room for us to all be together or to gather in small groups in one of the many sitting areas inside and out. The villa is even more wonderful than the pictures! Words simply can't describe the awesome views! Being on the north side of the island, we were treated to beautiful sunrises and cooling trade winds. Sitting outside in the evening was so relaxing! The layout of the villa with its three separate buildings is unique, and every bedroom has a wonderful view. The amenities at the villa were numerous - everything we needed for cooking the fish the guys caught, the grills outside, several dining tables inside and out, coolers to keep drinks in at the villa or to take to the beach, beach towels, comfortable seating throughout, and beautifully decorated. The beds were so comfortable, and it was nice to sleep with the balcony doors open listening to the waves. The pool area was great with comfortable lounge chairs. There was even an outdoor shower that was awesome at 8:00 in the morning in 70+ degree weather, when we had come from North Carolina where we had one of the coldest winters on record.

I can't say enough about the hospitality of the owner Frances (Swazi) and her staff! She had everything ready for us. Josee, who met us at the airport gave us so much information, the maid service mid-stay was great, and William was friendly although we didn't need to call him for anything. From the first email to the last, with phone conversations in between, Frances answered all my questions and was always accessible.

One note of advice: you need to rent a 4-wheel drive vehicle because the roads are rough all over the island and the driveway to the villa is very steep. We rented a Jeep Wrangler (Discount Car Rental) and had no problems. Driving on the left however was a challenge! If you are looking for any type of catering, Laura and Cassandra of Passion Fruit Chefs are fabulous! We also enjoyed the Old Stone Farmhouse and Mahogany Grill at the golf course, not far from the villa. Megan’s Bay is the closest beach, and it is beautiful. We also enjoyed a day trip on the ferry to St. John.

We definitely want to go back to St. Thomas and Serendipity Villa would be our first choice of where to stay!

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Serendipity with our children and grandchildren and could not have planned a more wonderful vacation. There were 6 adults and 3 children plus our children who live on St. Thomas who visited us for Thanksgiving dinner. Ther was plenty of room for all with lots of living space for all the different age groups. The home was very comfortably stoked for all our needs. The views were incomparable. A totally wonderful time was had by all with nary a complaint. I'd say that was a big accomplishment for any family! Thanks so much for your hospitality, Serendipity!

My Husband and I had our Wedding in St. Thomas and rented Serendipity Villa for 4 nights of celebrating with our guests. From day one Frances provided us with outstanding service before, during and after the rental process. She is very quick to respond to any inquires you have via email. Her home is simply beautiful and all of our guests where blown away by the amazing view they each had from their private rooms. Serendipity Villa is spacious and inviting, you will not want to leave. Her team was very accommodating when we arrived and the few minor maintenance issues we had (we were the first group to stay at the house after the month long off-season) were resolved almost immediately. If you want affordable luxury private villa accommodations in St. Thomas, look no more! Serendipity Villa is where it is at if you desire paradise perfection!

First off I would like to say how blown away we were upon first arriving to St Thomas. We were met at the airport by Sherri and she gave us a warm welcome with a great smile. This was the second time for some of us and we decided that this option of staying in a villa just made sense. She took us to the north side of the island and we were in love with the Serendipity at first sight. Everything was perfect from the rooms to the tropical breeze to the view that greeted us. Our party had 7 adults and 4 teenagers and we all slept comfortably with the accommodations. We were there to attend a wedding and the beauty of the Serendipity was that it was right down the street as to where the wedding was held (Norbu). All in all it was nothing short of perfection. What we loved most about the Serendipity was the openness but it also had a family flair that made our vacation more than enjoyable. I told Frances that we would be back again soon because this trip was everything and more than we could have expected. This is the place that you want to stay in St Thomas. Just Amazing.

We stayed at Serendipity Villa for a week while attending our daughter's wedding. Serendipity was extremely roomy and had all of the amenities imaginable. There were only 6 of us (3 couples) and we had run of the entire villa. Ocean view- wonderful, swimming pool- perfect, bedrooms- comfortable beds & lots of privacy (no shared walls), kitchen- large and perfect for multiple cooks, bathrooms- so many I lost count...I think every room in every building had a bathroom. Wonderful ocean breeze everyday and loved watching the pelicans fly by every afternoon.

Except for lunch when we went to St Johns and dinner at the wedding reception, we made all of our meals at the villa. Could not believe that there were 2 grills (one gas, one charcoal). Close to Magens Bay so it was easy to pack lunch and spend the day at the beach. Lots of coolers of various sizes to use.The villa was supplied with paper products, sandwich bags, plastic wrap, foil, soaps (bath, laundry, & dish), you name it and they had it...even sunscreen and OFF bug spray!

ONLY precautions to mention- lots of stairs so I would not recommend for anyone with a walking disability. Also would recommend that curtains or shades be hung in the 2 ocean side bedrooms upstairs. The sun comes up around 5am and it is extremely bright & the room gets very hot. Room air-conditioner only needed at night when the ocean breeze comes to a stop. By mid-morning the breeze is in full force and no need for AC.

Conclusion: Once you have your food/drinks bought, it is the perfect place to sit back, relax, and unwind. Bottom line... I would definitely recommend Serendipity Villa for your stay in St Thomas, especially if you have a large group or multiple families staying together.

My new wife and I stayed her with our family and friends, and also had our wedding reception here. It was perfect for a small wedding like ours and fulfilled every need we had. It was five minutes from Magen's Bay which was perfect for us. Waking up every morning with the sun coming up over the ocean wasn't a bad way to start the day either. It was really hard to not have a smile on your face while staying there. I would recommend getting a 4x4 vehicle to rent if you stay there. The driveway is very steep, and there are a lot of hills going to and from the villa. All in all it was an amazing experience. Cannot wait to come back!

Serendipity is a perfect name for our experience at your Villa. We celebrated our 50th anniversary with our children, grandchildren, one fiancée and our little friend (it was so thoughtful and kind of you to permit her stay) Bella.

Memories of your beautiful place, the ocean, St Thomas, Megan's Bay, Mahogany Run - all the things we did together occurred because we could get away. Your wonderful place provided us that opportunity. Thank you. May God bless you!

We were a group of 14 (10 adults and 4 children, ages 12, 8, 7 & 3 years old). Before we even left I had communicated with Fraces many times via email and she was very prompt, informative and pleasant to deal with. Just from dealing with Frances I knew our vacation was going to go very smoothly. We stayed at the villa for a week from Jan 17-24 2013. We were met at our rental car agency (Discount Rental) by a manager from the house. She was absolutely wonderful! She drove ahead of us and led us right to the villa. She even gave us walkie talkies so that we could communicate with her as we drove and she pointed things out on the way.

Once we arrived at the villa we were very impressed! The manager gave us the grand tour and went over all kinds of information, including a map of the island. The villa was much bigger than expected. There are actually 3 seperate houses. The pool area is fabulous! It is right outside the main kitchen and living area. There are balconies, wrap around decks and outdoor seating everywhere!!! There are 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. We had more room than we needed, but it was great for everyone to have their own space and lots of quiet areas to put the kids to bed. You could easily just stay at the house and have a great time! The houses are stocked with tons of supplies. There is even a game closet with lots of board games and cards. The villa had 2 huge coolers which we used every day to pack snacks and beverages to take to the beach. There are even noodles for the pool (which we took to the beach too). There are TV's in every bedroom and several more in family rooms. There are AC units in all the bedrooms (and other places I think), but I didn't even pay attention because we never turned it on. We left our windows and patio doors open and wind off the ocean was just perfect for sleeping.

The island itself is beautiful!!! The beaches are left natural, with no resorts on them, just rolling green hills and palm trees. You feel like you are lost in paradise. You must drive on the left side of the road and there are a lot of hills and curves, but we found the roads to be very manageable. Our favorite spot was Magen's Bay, which is only a few minutes by car from the house. It is the perfect beach. They also have water sport rentals and great food. Coki Beach is a must also. A day trip to St. John is a must. You can even take your rental car over there on the car barge. Overall we highly recommend it!!!!!

Stunning sunrises and fantastic views! The villa had everything you could possibly need, from beach towels to iPod players. We had plenty of room to gather our group of 8 in the common spaces. Wonderful covered outdoor spaces for those of us that wanted less sun and of course the sun deck and pool deck were a hit as well. We ate most meals at the villa and easily found everything we needed to prepare and cook the meals. The owner was wonderful to work with and Eddie and Mary were just great, meeting us at the airport and always just a phone call away if we needed anything. We managed to hit a lot of the beaches, Magens Bay, Brewers Beach, Secret Harbor and Coki Beach, the snorkeling was outstanding with lots to see from colorful fish to sea turtles. We took the Red Hook ferry to St John one day and really enjoyed Trunk Bay. We highly recommend staying at Serendipity and would love to return sometime soon!

We had a wonderful stay at Serendipity Villa in November 2011. The villa was absolutely breathtaking and perfect for our large group of 16. The bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces were beautiful, lovingly maintained and well-appointed. I highly recommend Serendipity Villa to anyone who is looking for a luxurious and beautiful place to spend their time in St. Thomas.

We had a wonderful time at Serendipity last March! The villa was very clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The views of the Caribbean from the numerous porches were unbelievable. Serendipity's lay out was ideal, with every bedroom having its own unique and private view as well. The kitchen and common rooms were perfect, with every attention to detail met! We were able to relax by the pool almost everyday with the wonderful U.S. Virgin Island weather! The beaches, restaurants and nightlife were all in close distance to Serendipity. Couldn't have picked a better villa in St. Thomas!

Everything about our stay at Serendipity was wonderful-- Firstly, the view from the house is absolutely breathtaking-- Because the house is built into a cliff which borders the water, we were treated to a panoramic view of the ocean and surrounding mountains from nearly every window and deck on the property. It was incredible to wake up and look out of my bedroom window to watch the sun slowly rise over the horizon-- then, just as incredible to eat dinner outside while watching the ocean colors change as it slowly crept down again. The accommodations also exceeded all expectations-- the house was spotless, up to date, and incredibly well-maintained. The owner is absolutely lovely and went out of her way to make sure that even our smallest needs were met; and, was a true joy to be around. Megan's Bay, which is an incredible beach, is just a short distance away from the house-- We walked down there several times and spent the day swimming, paddle boarding, and basking in the sun. This is also where many people come to jog, so I enjoyed a beautiful run through the bordering forest's trails, and then cooled off in the water afterward. We also took a wonderful day trip to St. John's, where we snorkled and then enjoyed beachside cocktails while waiting for the return ferry. I would recommend this house to any vacationer w/ out hesitation, and I feel lucky to have spent time there.

I really loved the place. Amazing views from all over and it is close to the most beautiful beach that I have seen (Megan's Bay). I hope I can get a chance to stay there again.

Beyond our wildest expectations, Serendipity is a jewel in the sun. Extraordinary views abound from every room. Spacious accommodations, with no detail spared. One of the greatest surprises was how comfortable the bedrooms were, bedding reserved for a 5 star hotel. The privacy and beauty made this a truly memorable get away. We look forward to when we can return gain.

When I sent friends at home in New York the pictures from one of the balconies from this seacliff paradise, they said they could not believe they were taken without a filter. No tricks. Just the deepest blues, greens and wild flower colors you will ever see on earth. The owners of Serendipity were superb hosts, anticipating all our needs, providing great tips to the best beaches (love Meghans Bay in the early morning and late in the day). A Japanese restaurant in an outdoor cabana that had the freshest fish I have ever tasted. Great space to cook your own meals and plenty of space for people to sit back and read a book while others are playing in the pool. We highly recommend Serenity especially for large groups. We were a threesome but want to bring our family.

We brought our children and grandchildren to this spacious villa for spring vacation. We have stayed in many rental properties on various Caribbean islands and this was the best equipped ever. I'm not crazy about driving on narrow twisty unfamiliar roads but you can spend your whole vacation right at this property and you may want to do so. Get organized, make a list, buy your provisions and sit back. Groceries on this island are plentiful and very reasonable so we cooked for 10 and ate most nights on the gorgeous covered porch. We eat in restaurants at home frequently so this was more fun for us - like Thanksgiving every night with different food. The kitchen is big and has everything you need. The outdoor covered sitting area was so appealing to the whole family that I came home with the idea of replicating it here. The 3 buildings are grouped around a lovely pool. Even with 10 people we had a crazy amount of extra space. There were rooms we didn't even use! The hillside villa top floor worked well for the couple with young children. Rooms close together yet still private. The main house has one large master looking out to the water. The new wing has 2 beautiful new bed/bath combos with large terraces over the water. There are TVs everywhere and the wireless internet worked well.

The owner's guide to restaurants, services, attractions, etc. became our bible. It is very detailed with specific tips on enhancing your stay - like stocking the cooler with iced drinks rather than going in and out to the fridge. There are maps and guides and lots of books. The property managers, Eddie and Marie, are great. I would add that we really enjoyed Smith Bay Park. It was really perfect for the kids - water beautiful and calm, very good snorkeling, chickens and iguanas on the beach - kids loved that, not many people, trees for shade and Red Hook close by to pick up lunch and bring back to the beach. Easy parking too. Magen's Bay is quite close to the house but can seem crowded (even to a Brooklyn girl.) We took the whole crew to Mahogany Run for dinner. Very pleasant, good food and convenient drive from the house. Also Iggy's for crab night. The kids can run around on the beach before and after the 10 minutes they spend eating. Also there's a BBQ guy near Mandahl Market who sells amazing chicken somosa-like pastries and rice and beans. Serendipity is the perfect family reunion villa. We plan to return.

I had a wonderful time in St. Thomas and it was so nice to finally meet you!! Luckily, theweather is warm now in Providence so It wasnt a shock to come back. I definitely miss the ocean view first thing in the morning and going swimming at the beach every day. All the dinners and trips! On the train ride from Boston to Providence, I started to make a list of what we did everyday. The boat trip to the BVI was my favourite. I have been telling everyong about the Soggy Dollar and how it got its name. And Sandy Spit was breathtaking. I am still so surprised at how clear and gorgeous the water is and how easily I could float in it. I feel completely rejuvenated.
